Miami Postcard

No I haven't been to Miami, but my summers pretty much felt like it. Okay so this is the UK, we don't have the best weather in the world and no-where near as nice as Miami Florida, but I just think that it's been happy, fresh and exciting, just like Miami. Places like this always make me motivated, as I believe that one day I can move into an expensive pent house on top of a high skyscraper, knowing that I got there, through my hard work.

My Movie Review

The Dark Knight Rises (2012)

Synopsis

In Gothem City, the city of heros and thieves, the caped vigilante, having disappeared for years, decides to return, only to find a new kind of threat stronger than himself, both mentally and physically.

Review

The idea of the plot is very clear on why British director Chris Nolan wanted to make it a reality, having the alpha male of the city get bombarded with a new threat that could take his place. A masked figure from out of no-where showing up and taking over the city with knowledge and physical power. Almost sounds like an old Spider Man movie, but the way it’s beautifully portrayed and scripted gives the film multiple stories within the plot line, that both coincide, from playboy, billionaire philanthropist Bruce Banner (Christian Bale) trying to hide his hate and fill it with calm knowledge, to steroid pumping villain, Bane (Tom Hardy) wanting to create a city with order, lead by him.

Tom Hardy plays Bane, a masked villain who takes pride in killing for the thing he wants most, hence the nickname. But the thing that makes him different from all the other Batman villains, is that they either have knowledge (The Joker), or they have Physical strength. Bane has both, though more muscle than intelligence. His acts of terrorism and threat, gives him the advantage, allowing him to control what happens in the city and when. Showing that he’s not afraid to pull the trigger, the police have no option or alternative.

There is also a well known character that starred in the film Batman Returns, who makes a very sneaky appearance within The Dark Knight Rises. Cat Women, played by American actress Anne Hathaway, comes across as a very mysterious and flexible character with her knowledge in thieving and stealth. She is seen as more of a con-man than an actual bad guy which she originally was in Batman Returns. Her appearances throughout the film have a tendency to be around Bruce as she seems to be quite the admirer of Banner. In fact, she is around him so much that you start to suspect that she knows of his little mid-night secret.

The camera work in the film is exceptionally well done, with a good range of helicopter shots, to some nice tense and exhilarating close-ups. The transitional scene changes also helps you know whats going on at the same time, with cuts from Banes uprising, to Banners determination in finding his inner peace. This makes the film bring a vigorous and excitable ending to both a fantastic trilogy and the life of a dark knight.

The opening, continuing 8 years in the future from the last batman movie (The Dark Knight) gives the audience a compelling interest into what became of Bruce Banner. After the death of his most precious gem Rachel (Maggie Gyllenhaal) Banner is seen cowering within the walls of his billion dollar mansion. He begins to show signs of temperament with his lack of confidents and strength, as they’ve drained from his body, making him a not so heroic hero, also given the fact that his Batman traits haven’t been worn for little over 8 years. Although Banners loss of success hangs above everyones head, his loyal and faithful servant Alfred Pennyworth (Michael Caine) still sees the old Bruce within the emotional and depressing one seen at the beginning.

During a behind the scenes interview with Michael Caine on his character Alfred Pennyworth, Michael stated that “You know what Alfred is? He is us”. Being the wise-man in the film, he truly brings out the emotion in Bruce as Alfred is the only person Bruce will listen to. Being the type of guy who likes to hide his emotions, no matter how much he tries, Bruce can’t fully hide the affect Alfred’s words are doing to him.

There is one fact which I feel is misleading yet is one of the most important ones about Bane. It is about the mask that’s strapped around his head, almost looking like a futuristic gas mask. The film never really explained the origin of Banes mask and how he got it, which to those who don’t know much about the old films and comics, would lack a clear distinction onto the purpose of it.

But overall the film shows an experimental conflict between good and evil. With a more powerful enemy, the hero must use all his might and knowledge to overcome and defeat such a strong and terrifying opponent.

Verdict

A realistic and effectively produced conflict with violent clichés about a hero defending not only their pride, but the city they’ve chosen to protect. A definite must see.

Sorry No Blogs

Sorry for having no blogs up lately. Been hugely busy, from being epically annoyed to the max. Was almost done on finishing the doc and then my frikin fathers computer caused the house to short circuit and turned my computer off so have to do animation and last two VFX scenes again -.- took days.

October!

Can't wait for October, it is going to be the best month this year! Two of my fav things are coming out, Assassins Creed 3 and TAKEN 2!!!! Seriously can't wait to see that. Any film starring Liam Neeson is an all time fav of mine!

Need To Script

Haven't scripted any RoA with Cameron in a while, I think around 3 days ago? Been so busy doing other things I've never been able to do any of it. We must start soon though as the sooner we get it done, the sooner we can bring out the series, which by the way will be frikin awesome!

Documentary

This animation is taking so long to render out, can't believe it. Might as well wait until tomorrow so I can do something in the mean time other than waiting all night for the damn thing to finish. Can't wait for 'Raincloud' (Alien Documentary) to be up. Is gonna be so good!

Sorry

Right, today there will not be a video up as I need to get a lot of things done outside of editing and editing itself, including scripting with Cameron which we didn't do yesterday. I assure you that there will be one on monday. Don't know what it will be about but there will be one. So gotta get editing.

Scratch That

Turns out we can have a video up today. I'm now uploading the Slender gameplay of me a Will. It's pretty funny and definitely scarier when played early hours of the morning. It will be up in around 1 hour and 30 minutes!

No Video

Okay so I woke up quite late today so their wont be a video up until tomorrow. Sorry but I need to get my body clock back for College and if I up load one today it maybe upload till 2am.

Scary Night

Just spent the whole night playing some Amnesia custom stories with Will for Fright Night and also filmed us playing Slender for the second time but this time in the dark. Trust me, it's so different in the dark other than in day which is when I played it :L

Working

Just came back from working. Spent all morning putting up new coat pegs for a school. When I use the drill I act like a dog when afraid of a hoover, I hate it. Oh well at least I'm done now. Gonna film a Fright Night tonight with Will as he is now back from vacation. The video might be up tomorrow not quite sure but the two tutorials might not go up today as Amnesia ep 12 isn't getting much views atm. Not as much as normal anyway.

New Video

Well, episode 12 of Amnesia is now up if anyone wants to see it which you probably have as you get here from our youtube channel so I don't know why I'm actually blogging the info about the vid but hey, will have maybe two tutorials up tomorrow don't quite know yet. Got to go, just about to script more RoA with Cameron (He's a twat).

Clothes

Just spent the whole day shopping for new clothes as I swear I'm starting to turn into a cartoon character. My daily fasion would be cream chinos with a white shirt and a jacket. Not anymore. By the way, episode 12 of the Amnesia series will be out sometime in the evening, not quite sure yet but because the file sizes are around 1-3 GB each, it takes a lot of time to upload them.

Poet

Cameron is now a renowned poet, he has written a beautiful (fucking terrible) poem that everyone will enjoy (shit on after the first word)! (:

Taking Forever

Me & Cameron are working our butts off with this script. Seriously starting to get a head ache, using my brain a lot today. It's looking good though, looking very good indeed.  Might have to stop soon as I'm tired and I need to create another tutorial for Blender.

New Saying

We the people, of MDFI... wait thats an American saying "we the people".... Oh well. We the people, MDFI have devised and agreed that our new saying is "SHIET". Pronunciation: She-Et (Nassle sound) as heard somewhere in the Amnesia series! Wow that was a huge announcement. (Sarcasm)

College!

Well it's safe to say that both George & Cameron got into college/sixth form, and two of the nicest ones in suffolk. Suffolk New and Suffolk One, great places! <-- Short blog sorry!

Scripting

About to continue with the script with Cameron for a brand new series. Hint, RvB but our own and much much more cinematic. It will be a normal series with around 15 - 20 episodes a series. Not completely sure on how long each episode will be but they will be long enough for people to be satisfied!

Waiting

So, I gotta wait till 1:00PM till Enrollment, I really just want to go now. Hate waiting for things as time seems to go really really really really really slow. What should I do in the mean time? Play some Amnesia for new vids? Yeah might as well.

Nerves

Getting slightly nerves before I go to enrol and college. I really want this, I've never really wanted something this bad in my life, as if I don't get in, I don't know what I'll do. Where would I go, where would I start? I'm so annoyed with the exam board for under grading everyone's results. I would have probably gotten a C in most things, but ended up getting 4 D's. Goes for some of my friends as well who are super smart and they got D's when they should have gotten C's & B's. Angers me knowing that the exam board are screwing with our life for an experiment to see how things will go. Oh well, we just gotta wait and hope that the appeal gets won for them to re-mark our GCSE's.

Gettin Fat

I have literally never eaten so much in my life. 1 & 1/2 pizzas and they were frikin huge trust me then after, awesome lemon meringue pie. Ask... the restaurant, is so good, would definitely go there again. Feel so sick right now though, think I might get an early night before I puke everywhere. (Discussed face).

Weird Name For A Restaurant

Just about to go out to a restaurant named 'Ask'.... Ask? Who names a restaurant Ask. It better be nice, had a while figuring out it was named Ask, kept thinking it was my sister telling me to ask her. So confusing.

Alone

Both Will & Mark are on holiday... Guess that leaves me with all of the hard work. I don't really care anyway, it's what I love doing.

Getting ideas for some VFX videos is really hard considering a load of quality ones have already been done. Gotta start thinking, at least I've got Cameron here to help me out with what ever I need. Anyway got some work to do so this will be it for today.
